Thank you for another thoughtful article. I love that Yakushima is #1 on your list … I have wanted to see 縄文杉 ever since I read “number9dream” by David Mitchell. One day 🤞
Thank you for your comment! To be honest, I had never heard of Number9dream, but I just looked it up, and it seems really interesting! I wonder in which scene the Jomon Sugi story comes up. And yes, I’ve never been to Yakushima either—but it’s definitely on my bucket list. My parents went there last year and said it was amazing!
Thanks so much for your comment and for sharing your experience! I’m hoping that someone who sees this and is planning to visit Japan soon will consider hiking Takao Mountain! It’s closer to central Tokyo than other options, so I think it’s a great choice. I also hope you’ll have the chance to visit many other amazing places when you come to Japan next time!
Hi! I really hope you get the chance to experience shinrin-yoku when you visit Japan! I’d be happy to recommend some great spots for it, depending on the area you’re in and how intense of an experience you’re looking for. Feel free to reach out anytime if you’d like suggestions!

Thank you for this article. I visited Mt. Takao on my first trip to Japan and absolutely loved it. 💚

Hi Miki... A friend of mine from Japan shared with me about "Shinrin-Yoku" sometime ago. Thanks Miki
