Thank you for sharing this. I love how visiting a temple or shrine can be about making a commitment to yourself, to preserve in the face of a challenge, and how the omamori reminds you of that promise. Im very grateful that you shared these thoughts along with the lovely photos. I hope you did well on your exam too.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! Yes, for me it really is a place where I make a commitment to myself, and the omamori feels like a little reminder of that promise.

And thank you for the good luck wishes for my exam too, that meant a lot!

I recently visited 勝尾寺 on a Thursday morning, and was very surprised how many travelers were there. It’s a lovely walk in the winter sunshine, full of history.

Thank you for your comment!

Yes, I’ve heard that 勝尾寺 has been getting more and more popular lately. I loved how unique the atmosphere is.

By the way, did you get a chance to visit the waterfall near the temple?

Yes, I did visit the waterfall. I drove there and on the way back I saw quite a few people walking down to 箕面の滝 as the weather was good.
