How to get to Katsuo-ji from central Osaka (Simple routes)
Katsuo-ji Temple is located in the mountains of Minoh, north of central Osaka. The access is easy, but knowing the best route saves time and energy.
Recommended route (easy for most travelers):
Take the Midosuji Line from Umeda, Shinsaibashi, or Namba
Get off at Minoo-Kayano Station
From Minoo-Kayano, go to Katsuo-ji by bus or taxi
From Minoo-Kayano Station to Katsuo-ji:
Bus:
About 20 minutes
Around 800 yen one way
Best for solo travelers or couples
Taxi:
About 15–20 minutes
Often cheaper if you are 3–4 people
Comfortable in bad weather or when tired
Why this route is good:
The Midosuji Line is the main subway line in Osaka
Transfers are simple for tourists
The scenery changes from city to mountains, which already feels refreshing

And my other 2 favorite places are…
