Meet the farmers preserving Japan’s centuries-old tea traditions — from Kyoto’s genmaicha to Miyazaki’s rare kamairicha — and explore 1,000+ teas connecting Japan’s tea heartlands with the world.
I recently received Kuki Hojicha and another tea called Sencha Arata. I’ve now tasted the first one and it has a delicate and mild taste to it. I personally prefer it in the evening. I haven’t tasted the Sencha yet, but are looking forward to that as well.
I've been a genmaicha aficianado for the extra toasted maillard notes- so complex and soul-satisfying. Here in the US...Harney makes a nice one available
I’m a genmaicha lover as well! I used to drink it a lot since it has less caffeine than sencha or hojicha. I totally agree, those toasty, nutty notes are so comforting!
Wow! Thank you for sharing this Miki... it's really satisfying to understand the provenance of the teas and to source them from a provider that really honours the producers. I think I'd most like to try to try #1 Genmaicha, #2 Hojicha or #4 Kamairicha
I really think so too — it’s so special to connect with teas that truly honor the producers.
And thank you for participating in the giveaway! I hope you enjoy trying #1 Genmaicha, #2 Hojicha, and #4 Kamairicha. The winners will be announced one week from now!
