Night at the Hotel

After our evening dining adventure, we returned to the hotel.

We tried the hinoki (Japanese cypress) bath powder, which filled the room with a calming forest scent, making the bath feel like a tiny retreat.

Amenities were infused with tea: shampoo, body soap, even room wear embroidered with tea leaf motifs.

Then, we experienced the Airweave bed, a premium brand in Japan, which was one of the most comfortable nights I’ve had.

The Morning: Breakfast Infused with Tea

The next morning, sunlight filled the dining room, creating a feeling of spacious openness.

What amazed me was how naturally so many dishes incorporated Japanese tea—without feeling forced or gimmicky. Each flavor felt balanced, thoughtful, and harmonious.

The special keema curry with seafood aroma was exceptional, layered with umami from bonito flakes and kelp, with a hint of Japanese arima pepper.

But it was the tea that truly impressed:

• Deep-steamed green tea – bold, smooth, and comforting

• Roasted green tea “Yasashisa” (meaning gentleness) – delicate and soothing

• Japanese black tea with ginger “Pokapoka” (meaning warm and cozy) – spicy, fragrant, and lively

Sipping each cup felt like a small ceremony, a quiet moment to appreciate the depth of Japanese tea culture.

From breakfast, it was natural to move to the 2nd floor tea shop, where you can purchase the exact teas you tried. I loved how each tea had a name and personality—it made the experience even more personal.
