2-Day Wellness Escape in Ehime—No Car Needed!
A 2-day itinerary that lets you explore Ehime’s natural beauty, healing spaces, and traditional towns.
Thank you so much for reading my last post about Ehime Prefecture 🍊 If you haven’t seen it yet, please feel free to check it out!
Today, for our paid readers, I’m sharing something special:
A 2-day itinerary that lets you explore Ehime’s natural beauty, healing spaces, and traditional towns—all without a car.
Since many rural places in Japan require driving, I’ve curated this trip using only public transportation—with helpful notes on how to get around easily by train, tram, bus, or even electric bike.
🗓️ Day 1: Hot Springs, Citrus Cafés & Setouchi Sunsets
9:00 — Arrive at Matsuyama Airport ✈️
Take the limousine bus to Dōgo Onsen Station, a nostalgic hot spring area with a 3,000-year history.
10:00 — Dōgo Onsen Honkan: Japan’s Oldest Public Bathhouse 🛁
Start your trip with a relaxing foot bath or explore the newly restored Honkan building. Even if you don’t take a dip, the architecture and atmosphere alone are healing.
📍 5 min walk from Dōgo Onsen tram stop.
11:00 — Mikan Juice Break at 10FACTORY 🍊
Recharge with a tasting flight of local citrus juices at 10FACTORY, famous for celebrating Ehime’s 38+ mikan varieties.
📍 2 min walk from Dōgo Onsen Honkan.
11:30 — Quiet Pause at Enman-ji Temple 💫
A peaceful little temple nearby where people offer prayers for well-being, love, and recovery. Great for a mindful moment.
